DeSpain Media House is a startup marketing and media agency, they work with companies in industries that can't do it themselves or just don't know how.

The owner of DeSpain Meda House is from Philadelphia, but wanted something that represented him. He wanted this identity to show how his personality to his company but not necessarily be just focused around him.

They are in the process of growth, and using Times New Roman does not help people see a digital media and videographer services as professional. So, the task is ours.

The challenge with this project was finding a way to combine the owner's hometown of Philadelphia with his passion for marketing and videography. Not only that, but find a way to accurately design a logo or mark that feels like it would work.

So, why did we choose a bird to represent Despain Media House? With connections to Philly, boxing gloves could be good, a bell could be work, there was so many different things to chose from, but we had to narrow it down.

So, why did we choose a bird to represent Despain Media House? With connections to Philly, boxing gloves could be good, a bell could be work, there was so many different things to chose from, but we had to narrow it down.

So as we worked through the lists and lists of things that could potentially influence our decisions, we decided to take an Eagle via Philadelphia and a Hawk via Utah (where the business is located) to work from. Instead of chosing one or the other we decided to generalize it to just be a Bird.

This bird was specifically chosen over the rest to represent the "eagle eye" or "hawk like vision". This being the key symbol of lens of the camera, DeSpain Media shows you how you are and how you can be.

RESULTS

After several meetings and rounds of adjustments, we handed off this project. When all was said and done the owners of DeSpain Media House gave a similar reaction to their chosen direction, as Phil Knight gave to the direction of Nike. "I don't love it, but it will grow on me."

Following this rebrand, the connections with the current clients were strengthened. Growth and expansion are continuing to increase as their brand is now more visible.
